- 1 - HOOKBOLT ADAPTER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An adapter which converts a bolt into a hookbolt has a nose portion and a tail portion diametrically opposed with respect to the stem of the bolt. The nose portion has an engagement surface which curves upwardly away from a flange to which the bolt is to be hooked, and parallel ribs are provided on the engagement surface which extend outwardly away from the stem of the bolt. The ribs are deformable so as to compensate for irregularities in the surface of the flange.
