Hopper cap extractor is an apparatus for extraction of plastic caps from laser toner cartridges Hewlett Packard brand (Models HP 4000, 4050, 4100 and compatibles) to use in cartridge refilling industry during the process of preparation of used cartridges. The apparatus contains the table or wall mounting plate, cartridge gig and spring returned arm mechanism with extraction pin pusher. The safety shield is installed against pin pusher. The cartridge is placed in holding gig and the hopper cap is extracted by pressing the arm manually or by using powered mechanism. The spring attached to the cartridge gig returns the arm to initial position. The cap extractor represents innovative device to use in cartridge refilling process. It increases the efficiency of operation by 500% reduces the extraction time, substantially reduces the risk of injuries during manual operation (without the apparatus), eliminates the damages of cartridges and allows reusing original caps.
