ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A horse tail cover and method are provided to cover the horse's tail being readied for dressage and other show competitions. The device includes a tubular cover formed of a single cloth panel attached lengthwise with VELCRO patches and closed at the top and the bottom with VELCRO attachments. A strap attachment including a single long strap looping around the horse's chest, over its back, with a cross strap across the back, and VELCRO attachments on the ends of the strap which attach to the upper end of the tubular cover.
