Abstract A hose and cable reel arrangement for a rock drilling apparatus (1), comprising a reel (3, 4) mounted in the rock drilling apparatus (1) so as to rotate rela- tive to a frame (6) of the apparatus, one reel being provided for each hose (25) and/or cable (8); and ro- tation means (13-16, 21-14) for each reel (3, 4) for rotating said reel (3, 4) relative to the frame (6). The reels (3, 4) are mounted under the frame (6) of the rock drilling apparatus (1) so as to rotate about a vertical axis (5) so that the cable reel (3) is positioned above the hose reel (4). The cable reel (3) is fastened to the frame (6) of the apparatus (1) by means of a circumferential bearing ring (11) and the hose reel (4) is fastened to the cable reel (3) by means of a similar bearing ring (17). Further, a gear ring (13, 21) is provided above each reel (3, 4). The gear ring is attached by means of separate chains (16, 24) to sprocket wheels (15, 23) mounted to the shafts of respective motors (14, 22). (Fig. 1)
