The present invention relates to a hose construction containing a thermoplastic fluoropolymer barrier and an epichlorohydrin rubber layer. The hose comprises (A) a rubber layer comprising (1) 100 parts by weight of elastomer comprising epichlorohydrin rubber; and (2) from about 10 to about 100 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of elastomer, of silica; wherein the rubber layer is cured with from about 0.1 to about 1.8 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of elastomer, of at least one peroxide; (B) a barrier layer adjacent to the rubber layer, the barrier layer comprised of at least one thermoplastic fluoropolymer.
