ABSTRACT A hose coupling wherein the end portion of an elastic hose surrounds an annular rib of a nipple and the rib has two mutually inclined conical flanks. The end portion of the hose is surrounded by a clamping ring wherein two circumferentially complete terminal portions surround a longitudinally slotted sleeve-like median portion. The webs between the slots bear against the end portion of the hose along the entire axial length of the rib so that the internal surface of the end portion of the hose is in adequate sealing engagement with both flanks of the rib. At least that flank of the rib which is more distant from the free end of the nipple has circumferentially complete teeth with radial flanks facing away from the free end of the nipple to thus effectively oppose separation of the end portion of the hose from the nipple.
