Abstract of the Disclosure Heat transferring liquid is pumped by a peristaltic pump from a reservoir through a heat exchanger to a disposable applicator pad through flexible conduits. The heat exchanger is provided with thermoelectric diodes which, under control of electronic circuitry, may absorb heat from or transfer heat to the liquid. Further, the control circuitry permits adjustment of the temperature of the applicator pad, whether hot or cold.
