ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of forming a valve body section with integral hub by providing a die with a general spherical concave upper surface and having a coaxial receptacle of circular cross-section depending therefrom. A cylindrical work piece of an outer diameter to be received in the spherical surface is forced down into the die so that the lower end is constricted into the smaller diameter cylindrical extension while the upper end conforms to the concave spherical surface. Two of the sections so formed are welded to- gether around their upper ends to form a one-piece spherical valve body with integral hubs.
