HOT MELT DISPENSER Abstract of the Disclosure Hot melt pumping and dispensing apparatus includes a platen movable into a barrel of a product to be heated and pumped including a cartridge-type pump in the center and an annular arrangement of arcuately shaped, individual cast aluminum heater segments. The segments are spaced from each other to define narrow radial passage- ways therebetween, and have truncated ends which define a common pump inlet opening at a common apex. Preferably the heater segments are provided with depending heat conducting projections formed as generally cylindrical members which extend in advance of the principal heater body into the material to preheat and soften the material.
