Hot Melt Ink Transparency Abstract An object of the invention is to provide a new and improved method for preparing ink transparencies which produces transparencies having improved characteristics. In the particular embodiments of the invention described in the specification, a transparency includes a transparent substrate (20) made of a polyester material, an ink pattern disposed on one surface (25) of the transparent sheet in the form of three-dimensional ink spots (21) having curved surfaces (22) and a transparent layer (23) covering the ink spots which has an index of refraction approximately the same as that of the ink spots. The transparent layer (23) is applied to the substrate and the ink spots (21) in the form of a liquid coating which wets the surfaces (20, 22) of the substrate (20) and ink spots (21) and spreads over them to produce a transparent layer having a maximum deviation of about 20 degrees from a plane parallel to the substrate.
