La composition peut contenir en outre éventuellement une charge de bourrage, un inhibiteur et un agent anti-structure. Les compositions vulcanisées à chaud sont utilisables pour le traitement des eaux avec libération d'une quantité Q continue et contrôlée de l'iode, en fonction du temps t, pour le traitement et l'éradication des maladies dues à une carence en iode.
