A series of interlocking heating mat suitable for melting the snow as it falls from the sky or even melting away an existing snowfall is provided, the heater being a flat heating element or a fine heater wire, a thermostat or other thermally activated device, a top layer made up of a conductive amalgamate of rubber, or rubber, or a conductive cement, or a conductive concrete, or a conductive asphalt. The controlling unit is preferably an electronic or computerized temperature censoring device which could be programmed yet could also be a directly switched in base format through electrical power. The heating mat apparatus also includes a drainage pattern directing flow to a side attached drainage system which could be linked to waste water lines or a separate suction system to eliminate buildup of rain waters.
