The refrigerant system includes a compressor, a condenser, a first capillary tube and a refrigerant phase separator connected in series refrigerant flow relationship. A fresh food evaporator to refrigerate the fresh food compartment is connected to receive both vapor and liquid phase refrigerant from the phase separator and to discharge refrigerant to the compressor. A freezer evaporator to refrigerate the freezer compartment is connected to receive liquid phase refrigerant from the phase separator and to discharge refrigerant to the compressor.
