ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is an electrical component including a two-part housing formed by two cup-shaped parts which are fitted one into the other to form a box with the edge of the open end of the inner part adjacent to the inner wall of the base of the outer part, and the interspace between said edge and said base being filled with a sealing material. The construction in accordance with the invention ensures that large sealing surfaces are formed between the two parts of the housing, whilst the sealing material additionally introduced causes the edge of the inner housing part to be firmly secured to the base of the outer housing part. Since this sealing material is in contact with the peripheral area of the base of the outer housing part, and is thus unable to escape, an excellent sealing with a low leakage rate is achieved. Terminal pins can be moulded into one part of the housing, so that no open holes exist which would have to be resealed by means of subsequent additional measures. However, since such moulding-in of the terminals is not possible in all cases, and necessitates the use of a relatively expensive injection mould, the electrical terminal pins can advantageously be inserted between the side walls of the two parts which engage one another. Since the end face of the inner housing part is fully surrounded by the sealing composition, terminal pins which have been inserted in this way, and arranged in the shape of syphon tubes around the end face are also fixed in position and sealed.
