TITLE OF THE INVENTION: HOUSING, ESPECIALLY FOR LARGE EQUIPMENT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A housing (1) for large equipment is constructed by lightweight structural techniques, preferably of interlocking extruded aluminum hollow chambered struc- tural sections. The forces applied to a roof plate (2), which is a stiff bending beam or flexural supporting girder with a greater stiffness perpendicular to its lengthwise axis, that is relative to its short width than relative to its length, are transmitted to a floor plate (9) through wall elements (3, 6, 7, 8) which each act as a thrust support wall capable of taking up shear- ing stress as well as bending and torsional stress. Together the wall elements or components form a torsion tube. - 1 -
