A method and apparatus for capturing a sample of flowable material from a closed system inside a receptacle (3) without exposing the sample to the ambient environment. The apparatus includes a housing (1) having an opening at one end for receiving a receptacle (3) and stopper (5). An end cap (33) is removably mounted to the housing (1) for opening and closing the opening. An inlet (23) is provided in the housing (1) for feeding a cleaning or sterilizing agent or the flowable material to be sampled into an interior of the housing (1). A clasp is provided to manipulate the receptacle (3) to separate the receptacle (3) and the stopper (5) while the stopper (5) and receptacle (3) are inside of the housing (1). Once the receptacle (3) and the stopper (5) are separated, the flowable material is fed into the receptacle (3) through the inlet (23). The clasp is then manipulated to reattach the receptacle (3) and the stopper (5) in order to capture the flowabel material. The apparatus is particularly useful in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries as well as the fine chemical, food and beverage industries where accurate, uncontaminated samples of materials from a closed system are desired without contaminating the sample of material or the closed system.

Cette invention concerne un procédé et un appareil à l'aide desquels il est possible de prélever à l'intérieur d'un récipient (3) un échantillon de matière fluide provenant d'un système fermé sans exposer l'échantillon à l'environnement ambiant. L'appareil est constitué d'une structure (1) qui comporte à une extrémité une ouverture servant à recevoir un récipient (3) et un bouchon(5). Un capuchon d'extrémité (33) est monté de manière amovible sur la structure (1) pour ouvrir et fermer l'ouverture. Une entrée (23) est prévue dans la structure (1) pour introduire un agent de nettoyage ou de stérilisation ou bien encore la matière fluide à échantillonner à l'intérieur de la structure (1). Un crochet permet de manipuler le récipient (3) pour séparer ce dernier (3) et le bouchon (5) alors que tous les deux (3) et (5) se trouvent à l'intérieur de la structure (1). Lorsque le récipient (3) et le bouchon (5) sont séparés, la matière fluide est introduite dans le récipient (3) par l'entrée (23). Le crochet est ensuite manipulé pour attacher à nouveau le récipient (3) et le bouchon (5) et enfermer ainsi la matière fluide. Cet appareil est tout particulièrement utile dans les industries pharmaceutiques et de biotechnologie ainsi que dans les industries de chimie fine, des aliments et des boissons dans lesquelles il est désirable d'obtenir des échantillons précis et non contaminés de matières provenant de systèmes fermés sans contaminer l'échantillon de matière ou le système fermé.
