ABSTRACT In accordance with the present invention there are provided hubs for optical disk in which a lubricant layer is formed on or in the vicinity of an opening edge into which a spindle of the optical disk driving device is inserted, and optical disks in which the above-mentioned hubs are used. By using the optical disks provided with such hubs as mentioned above, sliding properties between the spindle of the disk drive and the center hole of the hub are markedly improved, and excellent loading performance of the optical disk is accomplished.
