A hub seal (10) for installation on the wheel end of a heavy duty trailer or truck is disclosed which includes an annular casing having a radially outer surface configured to sealingly engage an accommodating surface of a wheel hub (12) mounted for rotation about a stationary spindle shaft (14), and an annular wear ring (134) mounted coaxial with the annular casing (132) and having a radially inner surface configured to sealingly engage an outer periphery of a stationary spindle shaft (14). The sealing surface of the annular wear ring (134) includes structure (137) for providing radial torque resistance between the annular wear ring (134) and the stationary spindle shaft (14) and for limiting installation loads associated with installing the annular wear ring (134) on the stationary spindle shaft (14). Similarly, the sealing surface of the annular casing (132) includes structure for providing radial torque resistance between the annular casing (132) and the wheel hub and for limiting installation loads associated with installing the annular casing (132) in the wheel hub (12).

La présente invention concerne un joint de moyeu (10) se montant sur l'extrémité roue d'une remorque ou d'un camion de type poids lourd. Ce joint comporte une pièce moulée annulaire (132) qui présente une surface extérieure radiale conçue pour s'engager de manière étanche sur la surface réceptrice d'un moyeu de roue (12) tournant sur une fusée d'essieu fixe (14), et une bague d'usure annulaire (134) montée coaxialement avec la pièce moulée annulaire (132) et conçue pour s'emboîter de manière étanche sur le bord extérieur de la fusée d'essieu fixe (14). Le plan de joint de la bague d'usure annulaire (134) comporte une structure qui oppose une résistance au couple de rotation entre ladite bague (134) et la fusée d'essieu fixe (14) et qui limite les charges imposées par le montage de la bague d'usure annulaire (134) à la fusée d'essieu fixe (14). De même, le plan de joint de la pièce moulée annulaire (132) comporte une structure qui oppose une résistance au couple de rotation entre ladite pièce moulée et le moyeu de roue (12) eè qui limite les charges imposées par le montage de la pièce moulée annulaire (132) sur le moyeu de roue.
