A polypeptide derivable from human NESP55 wherein the said polypeptide is derivable, or predicted from the amino acid sequence of human NESP55 to be derivable, by endoproteolytic cleavage of a polypeptide having the amino acid sequence (I) or (II) (human NESP55) or of a variant thereof, wherein the polypeptide variant has an amino acid sequence which has at least 90 % identity with the amino acid sequence given above. NESP55 or fragments thereof may be useful in medicine for the treatment of obesity.
L'invention concerne un polypeptide pouvant être dérivé de la protéine NESP55 humaine, dans laquelle le polypeptide peut être dérivé ou prévu à partir d'une séquence d'acides aminés de la NESP55 humaine devant être dérivée, par segmentation endoprotéolytique soit d'un polypeptide comprenant la séquence d'acides aminés (I) ou (II) (NESP55 humaine) soit d'une variante, dans laquelle la variante du polypeptide comprend une séquence d'acides aminés présentant une similitude d'au moins de 90 % avec la séquence d'acides aminés mentionnée ci-dessus. La NESP55 ou des fragments de celle-ci peuvent être utilisés en médecine pour le traitement de l'obésité.
