Immunization of human antibody-producing transgenic mice, which have been created using genetic engineering techniques, with AILIM molecule as an antigen resulted in various human monoclonal antibodies capable of binding to AILIM and capable of controlling a variety of biological reactions (for example, cell proliferation, cytokine production, immune cytolysis, cell death, induction of ADCC, etc.) associated with AILIM-mediated costimulatory signal (secondary signal) transduction. Furthermore, it has been revealed that the human monoclonal antibody is effective to treat and prevent various diseases associated with AILIM-mediated costimulatory signal transduction, being capable of inhibiting the onset and/or advancement of the diseases.
L'immunisation de souris transgéniques productrices d'anticorps humains, créées à l'aide des techniques du génie génétique où une molécule AILIM a servi d'antigène, a permis d'obtenir plusieurs anticorps monoclonaux humains capables de se fixer sur AILIM et de réguler une variété de réactions biologiques (p. ex. la prolifération cellulaire, la production de cytokine, la cytolyse immunitaire, la mort cellulaire, l'induction d'ADCC associées à la transduction du signal (signal secondaire) de costimulation médiée par AILIM. De plus, il s'est avéré que cet anticorps monoclonal humain est efficace dans le traitement et la prévention de plusieurs maladies associées à la transduction du signal de costimulation médiée par AILIM, cet anticorps permettant d'inhiber l'apparition et/ou l'évolution des maladies en question.
