ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A humidifier is provided which is readily assembled whether or not the inlet duct is to be positioned to the left or to the right of the humidifier housing. The humidifier includes a housing having similar first and second walls and ends between these walls. A back completes the housing and has an opening which, together with an opening in one of the ends, provides a path through the humidifier for air to be humidified. As required, the housing can be assembled with the opening in the end to the left or right and a water tray will be supported by the one of the walls which is lowermost. The drive motor, bearing for the humidifier drum, and a water inlet valve can be assembled as required on selected ones of the ends.
