A device for controlling relative humidity in an environment with a solidified humectant composition. The solidified humectant composition is made from a humectant salt, water, and a carrier. The solidified humectant may be formed into a tablet with the aid of a binder, or it may be contained within a thermoformed felt material, a sachet, or a water permeable canister. In a preferred embodiment, the sachet is made of a micro-perforated polyester/paper/polyethylene material. Preferred humectant salts include CaCl2, K2CO3,LiCl2, NaCl, K2SO4, and combinations thereof. A preferred embodiment of the present invention includes the use of one or more of: an antimicrobial agent, activated carbon, a volatile organic, a moisture adsorber and an oxygen absorber, in combination with the solidified humectant salt.
L'invention porte sur un dispositif de contrôle de l'humidité relative dans un environnement au moyen d'une composition humectante solidifiée. Cette composition humectante solidifiée est constituée d'un sel humectant, d'eau et d'un support. L'humectant solidifié peut être transformé en comprimé au moyen d'un liant, ou peut être contenu dans un matériau de feutre thermo-formé, un sachet, ou un contenant perméable à l'eau. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, le sachet est constitué d'un matériau de polyester/papier/polyéthylène micro-perforé. Des sels humectants préférés contiennent CaCl2, K2CO3,LiCl2, NaCl, K2SO4, et des combinaisons de ces derniers. Un mode de réalisation préféré de l'invention porte sur l'utilisation d'un ou plusieurs des éléments suivants : agent anti-microbien, charbon actif, un élément organique volatile, un adsorbeur d'humidité et un absorbeur d'oxygène, en combinaison avec le sel humectant solidifié.
