A vegetable bin (4) or a refrigerator comprises a floor, enclosing side walls and a substantially open top. The vegetable bin is placed within a refrigerated space beneath a lower shelf (6) to be cooled. The vegetable bin is furt provided with a lid (5) to cover said open top, and said lid is suspended underneath the lower shelf directly above t vegetable bin. In one condition the lid substantially seals the vegetable bin to help keep the vegetables fresh. In another condition the lid is lifted up a small amount at a rear portion of the lid, by operating control means (11), in order to allow the air within the vegetable container to exchange with the air of the refrigerated space. The air pathway is opened between the lid and the upper perimeter of the vegetable bin and is preferably located toward th rear of the refrigerated space proximate a circulating fan (8).
La présente invention concerne un récipient à légumes (4) ou un réfrigérateur qui comprend un fond, des parois latérales d~enceinte et une partie supérieure sensiblement ouverte. Le récipient à légumes est placé à l~intérieur d~un espace réfrigéré en dessous d~une étagère inférieure (6) pour être refroidi. Le récipient à légumes est en outre pourvu d~un couvercle (5) pour recouvrir ladite partie supérieure ouverte, et ledit couvercle est suspendu en dessous de l~étagère inférieure directement au-dessus du récipient à légumes. Dans une condition, le couvercle ferme le récipient à légumes de manière sensiblement hermétique pour garder les légumes frais. Dans une autre condition, le couvercle est levé selon une petite quantité au niveau d~une partie arrière du couvercle, en actionnant des moyens de commande (11), afin de permettre à l~air à l~intérieur du récipient à légumes de s~échanger avec l~air de l~espace réfrigéré. La voie de passage d~air est ouverte entre le couvercle et le périmètre supérieur du récipient à légumes et est de préférence positionnée vers l~arrière de l~espace réfrigéré à côté d~un ventilateur de circulation (8).
