HUMIDITY SENSITIVE DEVICE ABSTRACT The invention provides a humidity sensitive device for sensing the humidity of an atmosphere. The device comprises a humidity sensitive resistor containing at least one material selected from the group consisting of ZrO2, TiO2, Nb2O5 and Ta2O5 as the main component, and an electric heater 13 for heating and maintaining the humidity sensitive resistor at a temperature above 200°C. The humidity sensitive resistor and a fixed resistor are series connected across an AC voltage source, and the voltage across the humidity sensitive resistor or the fixed resistor is rectified by a AC/DC converter and compared with a reference voltage by a comparator, whereby an output responding to the humidity in the atmosphere can be measured over a wide range of temperatures. - 1 -
