ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A humidity sensor is formed by a pair of electrodes fitted on the surface of a flexible insulator film such as a polyester film, the pair of electrodes being arranged adjacent to one another with a suitable gap therebetween. Within the gap between the adjacent electrodes, a rough surface portion is formed on the insulator and/or the electrodes so that the condensed dew-drops on the gap are automatically dispersed, and accordingly the sensitivity of the humidity sensor is improved. A video tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus is also disclosed which employs the humidity sensor described above. In this case, the humidity sensor is mounted on the tape guide drum of the video tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus for detecting the humidity thereon.
