2133842 9320432 PCTABS00027 A humidity sensor comprising a semi-conducting ceramic body having surface exposed to the atmosphere and whose electrical resistance varies with variation in the humidity of the atmosphere to which it is exposed, and means for mesuring the resistance of the body and wherein said body comprises a semi-conducting ceramic composition comprising a solid solution of at least two metal oxides, at least one of which is a binary metal oxide having the formula MxM1Oy where M is divalent metal, M1 is tetravalent metal, x is 1 or 2 and y is 2 + x and a method of determining the level of humidity of an atmosphere using this humidity sensor.
