11LA-03877 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In an HVDC electric power delivery system having power converters arrayed at opposed ends of an HVDC power conductor link there is provided a floating current order control subsystem which supplies an input control signal to the regulator of each converter. This signal represents the magnitude of the sum of the direct current flowing in the power conductors and a predetermined current margin, the polarity of the signal being determined by the direction of power flow. The subsystem also employs a limiter which functions to limit the rate and extent of change in the floating current order control signal within predetermined bounds so as to maintain the load current within preset maximum and minimum values.
