This invention relates to a hybrid breeding technology for crop plants in the family Brassicaceae characterized in that F1 seed is produced by crossing the female parent of a male sterile line introduced self-incompatibility with the male parent of a self-incompatible line. By the breeding technology of this invention, selfed seeds contamination can be prevented in F1 breeding and F1 seed production of crop plants in the family Brassicaceae and, moreover, the cost of seed production can be reduced through an improved seed production efficiency.

Il s'agit d'une technologie d'amélioration par hybridation pour les plantes cultivées de la famille des Brassicacées. Les semences F1 sont obtenues par croisement entre un parent femelle de lignée androstérile où l'auto-incompatibilité a été introduite et un parent mâle de lignée auto-incompatible. Cette technologie d'amélioration permet de produire des semences F1 de Brassicacées cultivées et de sélectionner des sujets F1 de ces plantes sans qu'il y ait contamination par des semences résultant d'une autofécondation. De plus, elle permet de réduire le coût de la production des semences, grâce à une efficience accrue de cette production.
