ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hybrid motor vehicle includes a storage battery providing motive power to an electric motor under the control of a micro- processor. A generator with an internal combustion engine may be used to charge the storage battery. The motor is operated either in an actuated mode in which current flows from the battery and a dynamic braking mode in which regenerated current flows from the motor to the battery. Electronic circuitry is used to insure that regenerative current is generated even if the motor Emf is lower than the voltage of the storage battery.
