A fiber-reinforced plastic member characterized by having a hybrid portion made of carbon fibers and high elongation organic fibers. The fiber-reinforced plastic member retains the excellent characteristics of carbon fiber- reinforced plastics such as lightweightness, high strength, and high elasticity, and has such a safety that, even if it is broken, broken pieces little scatter and dangerous fracture faces are little exposed.
