The invention concerns a line switch comprising an arm (1) that pivots one way, with a mobile contact (2) at its free extremity and pivoted at its other extremity by a drive mechanism (3) mounted on one insulator post (4) and a fixed contact mounted on a second insulator post (7) that receives the mobile contact (2) in the switch's closed position (A), the arm (1) being more or less perpendicular to this closed position when the switch is in the open position (B). The first insulator post (4) carries a ground contact (8) and the drive mechanism (3) allows the arm (1) to pivot into a more or less reverse perpendicular position (C), where the mobile contact (2) connects with the ground contact (8).
