The invention relates to an optical data carrier that combines a CD layer with at least one further format, for example a DVD layer. For producing such a hybrid carrier data with a thickness of less than 1.7 mm, preferably 1.5 mm or less, the CD layer will normally be in a layer depth of substantially less than 1.5 mm seen from the surface to be read out, therefore the CD substrate has to be thinner. The quality of the read signal obtained is increased by increasing the length of the optically readable structures of the CD layer compared to conventional structures. In view of the focusing problems some CD players encounter when playing thin substrates, the refractive index of the disk material used at least for the CD substrate is decreased compared to the value of polycarbonate, the recommended range is between 1.40 and 1.55. The compatibility of the CD layer of an inventive hybrid disk with various players can be further increased by widening their readable structures compared to normal structures, they are consequently more than 500 nm wide.
L'invention concerne un support de données optique réunissant une couche CD avec au moins une couche d'un autre format, par exemple, une couche DVD. Au cas où un tel support de données hybride doit être produit à une épaisseur inférieure à 1,7 mm, de préférence, à une épaisseur égale ou inférieure à 1,5 mm, la couche CD se trouve normalement à une profondeur de couche bien inférieure à 1,1 mm, à compter de la surface de lecture ; il s'ensuit que le substrat CD doit être aminci. La qualité des signaux de lecture obtenus est augmentée en augmentant les longueurs des structures lisibles optiquement de la couche CD, par rapport aux valeurs se présentant habituellement dans ce cas. Du fait des difficultés de focalisation de certains appareils de lecture CD dans le cas de substrats minces, l'indice de réfraction du matériau en plaque utilisé est abaissé, pour un substrat CD, par rapport à la valeur d'un polycarbonate, la zone recommandée se situant entre 1,40 et 1,55. La compatibilité de la couche CD d'une plaque hybride selon l'invention par rapport aux divers appareils de lecture, peut en outre être augmentée en élargissant leurs structures lisibles vis-à-vis des valeurs normales, à savoir à des valeurs supérieures à 500 nm.
