The invention concerns hybrid power relays used for opening or closing electric circuits (V1, V2). The hybrid relay (60) comprises an electrical contact (70) with mechanical displacement, a semiconductor component (80) in parallel on the electrical contact (70) with mechanical displacement, means (100, Q3, 112, Q4, 72, Q6, D6, D7) for controlling the contact closure and activating the semiconductor component conductivity in response to a first control signal, and for the contact opening and activating the semiconductor component conductivity in response to a second control signal. The control means include means for: generating on the basis of the first control signal a contact closing signal; generating on the basis of the first control signal, independently of the closing signal, a first signal activating the component conductivity starting before the contact closure and ending after said closure; generating on the basis of the second control signal a contact opening signal; generating on the basis of the said second signal, independently of the opening signal, a second signal for activating the component conductivity starting before the contact opening and ending after said opening. The invention is applicable to electric circuit switching.
