A composite is disclosed which is resistant to knife and ice pick stab penetration and is made from a plurality of layers (12) of woven polybenzoxazole or polybenzothiazole fibers, a plurality of ballistic layers (16), and a plurality of tightly-woven penetration resistant layers (14). Said layers may comprise para-aramid fibers or polyethylene fibers.

L'invention concerne un composite résistant à la pénétration par perforation au moyen d'un couteau et d'un pic à glace, lequel est constitué d'une pluralité de couches (12) de fibres tissées de polybenzoxazole ou de polybenzothiazole, d'une pluralité de couches de protection balistique (16), et d'une pluralité de couches (14) tissées de manière serrée et résistant à la pénétration. Lesdites couches peuvent comprendre des fibres para-aramide ou des fibres de polyéthylène.
