HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR Abstract of the Disclosure A hydraulic actuator is used in a hydraulic servo system to control the positioning of a hydraulic- ally-operated adjustable pulley. The hydraulic actuator has a double-ended piston, both sides of which, are subjected to fluid pressure. A pair of solenoid valves control the selective exhausting of fluid from the side of the piston toward which movement is desired The movement of the piston operates the spool valve through a linkage. The spool valve in turn controls fluid pressure within the hydraulically-operated pulley.
