ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hydraulic circuit for a tree harvesting apparatus comprises a first source of pressurized fluid with a first motor connected to said first source and operable to actuate a cutter. A second source of pressurized fluid is connected to second motor means which is operable to advance the cutter. Regulating means are provided between said second source and said second motor to regulate the rate of fluid flow to said second motor means and to modulate said flow rate in response to changes in the pressure of fluid delivered by the second source. Pressure transmitting means are operable to transmit to the second motor means the pressure of fluid delivered to said first motor means to oppose advances of said cutter.
