ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A control and drive device for rotary heat exchangers. Drive means are provided for a rotary heat exchanger which com- prises a hydraulic motor and a pump, operated by an electric motor, supplying the hydraulic motor with a pressure medium. A valve is provided between the pump and hydraulic motor. The val- ve is controlled by a temperature scanning member so that the rate and pressure of the pressure medium supplied to the hydraulic motor, and thus the rotary speed of the heat exchanger, is con- trolled by the temperature scanned.
