A hydraulic disconnector (10) consists of two backflow preventers (16, 18) arranged in series in flow direction of the medium and of an intermediate chamber (20) between both backflow preventers. The intermediate chamber (20) is vented to the atmosphere by a venting valve (22). A differential pressure stabilizer (40) is provided which controls the differential pressure between the input side (12) and the intermediate chamber (20) to an approximate constant value (Fig. 1).
