HYDRAULIC FLUID FILTER ASSEMBLY Abstract of the Disclosure A fluid filter assembly is mounted within a fluid reservoir and includes an elongate filter guide member fixed to the bottom of the reservoir and extending to a location adjacent an access opening provided in a top wall of the reservoir. A filter element is received on the guide and normally rests on the bottom of the reservoir in surrounding relationship to an outlet opening. A filter element manipulating member is received on the guide and has a lower end releasably frictionally received on a top end of the filter element. A fastener is threadedly received on the upper end of the guide and bears downwardly on the manipulating member so as to hold the filter element in place.
