A process for fracturing a subterranean formation below an earthen surface in fluid communication with a wellbore. A foamed fracturing fluid comprising an aqueous solvent, a water-soluble synthetic polymer, a surfactant, and a gas is premixed at the surface. The aqueous solvent may be a fresh water or a brine. The fracturing fluid may additionally comprise a proppant, fluid loss additive, and/or a foam breaker. After the fluid is mixed and foamed, it is injected into the formation via the wellbore at a pressure sufficient to induce at least one hydraulic fracture in the formation.

Procédé de fracturation d'une formation souterraine située sous une surface de terre en communication fluidique avec un puit de forage. On prémélange à la surface un fluide de fracturation du type mousse comprenant un solvant aqueux, un polymère synthétique soluble dans l'eau, un tensio-actif et un gaz. Le solvant aqueux peut être de l'eau douce ou une saumure. Le fluide de fracturation peut également comprendre une matière solide, un additif de soutènement et/ou un agent antimoussant. Lorsque le fluide est mélangé et transformé en mousse on l'injecte dans la formation par le puit de forage à une pression suffisante pour induire au moins une fracturation hydraulique dans la formation.
