The present invention pertains to hydraulically powered hand held tool, used in mining for removing the loose rock off the walls of an underground excavation. This ensures safety for the miners entering the excavation subsequent to the blast, preparing to install the permanent rock support such as the rockbolts and screens. The scaling process and the tool have hardly changed over the years from the very beginning of mining as such. Today more economical hydraulic equipment is rapidly replacing the compressed air equipment and its limitations. The tool utilizes the hydraulic equipment power source, and eliminates most of operators' physical effort required. The spare parts and materials are widely available. Having no exhaust completely eliminate breathable air contaminants; fogging, causing the poor workplace visibility, and significantly reduces audible noise pollution. The tool substantially improves overall efficiency of scaling process, and requires no additional infrastructure.
La présente invention a pour objet un outil à main à énergie hydraulique utilisé dans l'exploitation minière pour débarrasser les parois rocheuses des blocs de pierre branlants dans les excavations souterraines. Cette opération, appelée purgeage, a pour effet d'assurer la sécurité des mineurs pénétrant à l'intérieur de l'excavation après les coups de mine et avant la mise en place des installations de soutènement permanent tels les boulons à roche et les treillis de soutien. Les méthodes de purgeage ainsi que l'outil utilisé à ces fins ont à peine évolué au fil des ans et depuis le début des opérations d'exploitation minière. Aujourd'hui, des outils d'utilisation plus économique fonctionnant à l'énergie hydraulique et surpassant les capacités des outils à air comprimé sont en voie de les remplacer. Les outils en question, dont l'utilisation fait appel à une source d'énergie hydraulique, permettent d'éliminer l'essentiel de l'effort physique exigé de l'utilisateur. Les pièces de rechange et le matériel connexe sont facilement disponibles. L'absence de gaz d'échappement élimine complètement l'émission de contaminants dans l'air respirable ainsi que la formation de buée qui entrave la visibilité dans les lieux de travail; la pollution par le bruit s'en trouve également fortement diminuée. L'outil en question permet d'accroître l'efficacité des opérations de piégeage et ne requiert aucune infrastructure additionnelle.
