HYDRAULIC HOSE ADAPTER WITH O-RING SEAL ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hose coupling is provided with metallic male and fe- male members which are engaged by means of an internally threaded sleeve which is rotatably secured to the female member. The male and female members are provided with tapered male and female seat- ing surfaces. The male seating surface is interrupted by a cir- cumferential groove cut perpendicular to the axis of the bore of the male member. A deformable O-ring is carried in the groove. The cross-sectional area of the groove is greater than that of the O-ring.
