ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hydraulic propelling apparatus for a vehicle comprising a hydraulic pump driven by a vehicle engine, and a hydraulic motor connected to a propelling transmission of the vehicle. The hydraulic motor includes a swash plate rotatable by a switch mechanism between a high speed position and a low speed position. The switch mechanism includes a hydraulic cylinder, and an oil line extending to this hydraulic cylinder includes a throttle for retarding the rotation of the swash plate to the low speed position.
