ABSTRACT A hydraulic motor engine mount has a working chamber and a compensation chamber. The chambers communicate through an overflow passage which functions in parallel with a damping passage. The overflow passage is provided with a pressure control valve which may be operated through pressure differences between the working chamber and compensation chamber and includes a stop and a valve member, which valve member may be deflected into engagement with the stop through pressure differences between the chambers and may be deflected past the stop through an overpressure in one of the chambers. The valve member is, in its at rest position, spaced from the stop, wherein the distance between the valve member and the stop is selected so that a mutual engagement between the stop and the valve member is substantially prevented during transmission of acoustically prominent vibrations above 30 Hz into the hydraulic engine mount. Such a hydraulic engine mount provides for an efficient damping of low frequency engine vibrations below 30 Hz and an efficient insulation of high frequency motor vibrations from the body of a motor vehicle.
