Hydrazide derivatives Abstract Novel triacylhydrazides of formula I Image (I) wherein Ar1 and Ar2 each independently of the other is phenyl or naphthyl, or phenyl or naphthyl each independendy of the other substituted by from 1 to 5 radicals from the group comprising halogen, nitro, cyano, C1-C6alkyl, C1-C6haloalkyl, C1-C6alkoxy,C1-C6haloalkoxy, C1-C6alkoxyalkyl, C1-C6alkylthio, C1-C6alkylsulfinyl, C1-C6alkyl- sulfonyl, hydroxy, carboxy, C1-C6alkylcarbonyl, C1-C6alkoxycarbonyl, methylenedioxy, difluoromethylenedioxy, phenyl, phenoxy, pyridyloxy, phenylthio, thienyl, anilido, benzoyl, phenylsulfinyl, phenylsulfonyl, sulfonamido, C2-C6alkenyl, C2-C6alkynyl, C3-C8cycloalkyl and benzyl; R is C1-C10alkyl, C1-C10alkyl subsdtuted by a radical from the group comprising phenyl, C3-C8cycloalkyl, trifluoromethyl, halogen or 1 or 2 cyano radicals, or is C2-C10alkenyl, C3-C10alkynyl, C3-C8cycloalkyl, benzyl or phenyl; and R1 is C1-C10alkyl, C1-C10alkyl substituted by a radical from the group comprising halogen, cyano, nitro, C1-C4alkoxy, C1-C4alkylcarbonyl, C1-C4alkoxycarbonyl, phenyl and C3-C8cycloalkyl, or is C3-C8cycloalkyl or phenyl. These triacylhydrazides have valuable insecticidal and acaricidal properties and can be used for controlling pests.
