ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Amino-polyacetic acids such as ethylenediaminetetra- acetic acid, diethylene triaminepentaacetic acid and nitrilo- triacetic acid are reacted with alkanols and then with hydra- zine to form the hydrazides which may be converted to carboxy- hydrazides, i.e. carbazic acids. The products perform well as chelants and sequestering agents.
