A hydro-thermo massaging tub and method of massage treatment is described and wherein the treatment is performed by warm air jets distributed adjacent the bottom wall of the tub all about its circumference. Air jets are formed by holes made in the tub wall with the longitudinal axis of the holes oriented less than 45° from the plane of the bottom wall. The jets communicate with an air distribution duct which is fed hot air under pressure by a blower. Controls are also provided to vary the pressure of the air as well as the temperature thereof. Warm air jets are released in the water contained within the tub to impart turbulence in the body of water to create acupressure massaging flows of warm air jets and water flows from opposed sidewalls and end walls of the tub towards a central area of least turbulence and which is occupied by the body of a person. The acupressure massaging flows perform a massaging action all about the body simultaneously. The tub also includes a back massaging cavity to simultaneously massage the back. Hot air circulating in the distribution duct also heats the neck and back portion of the tub where the neck and back of the bather rests during treatment.
L'invention porte sur une baignoire de massage hydro-thermo et concerne une méthode de traitement par massage exécuté au moyen de jets d'air chaud projetés près de la paroi inférieure de la baignoire, sur toute sa circonférence. Des jets d'air sont formés par des trous percés dans la paroi de la baignoire. L'axe longitudinal des trous est orienté à moins de 45 degrés du plan de la paroi inférieure. Les jets communiquent avec une gaine de distribution de l'air qui est alimentée en air chaud sous pression au moyen d'un ventilateur refoulant. Des commandes sont également prévues pour faire varier la pression de l'air ainsi que sa température. Les jets d'air chaud sont projetés dans l'eau de la baignoire afin d'y créer une turbulence. Ils forment ainsi des courants d'air chaud pour massage par acupressure, et l'eau s'écoule des parois opposées et des parois d'extrémité vers une partie centrale où il y a moins de turbulence et où une personne se place. Les courants de massage par acupressure exécutent un massage sur tout le corps en même temps. En outre, la baignoire comporte une cavité à massage pour le dos qui permet de masser simultanément le dos d'une personne. L'air chaud circulant dans la gaine de distribution chauffe également les parties de la baignoire sur lesquelles une personne appuie son cou et son dos pendant le traitement.
