ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A crystalline aluminosilicate is commingled with a soluble partial hydrolysis product of aluminium sulphate after which the hydrolysis is completed. The mixture is aged, washed free of soluble matter, and dried and calcined to yield a catalytic composite comprising said crystalline aluminosilicate dispersed in alumina. A Group VIB metal component and a Group VIII metal component are added to the composite and the result- ing catalyst is used in a hydrocarbon conversion process.
