A process for the recovery of propane, propylene and heavier hydrocarbon components from a hydrocarbon gas stream is disclosed. The stream is cooled and/or expanded to partially condense it, then separated to provide one or more C3 containing liquid streams and a first vapor stream. These streams are then directed into a distillation column wherein a second vapor stream is separated to recover a product containing the major portion of the C3 components and heavier hydrocarbon components. A distillation stream is withdrawn from the column below the feed point of the first vapor stream and is then directed into heat exchange relation with the second vapor stream to cool the distillation stream and condense at least a part of it, forming a condensed stream. At least a portion of the condensed stream is directed to the distillation column as its top feed. The quantities and temperatures of the feeds to the distillation column are effective to maintain the overhead temperature of the distillation column at a temperature whereby the major portion of the desired components is recovered.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'extraction de propane, de propylène et d'autres constituants hydrocarbures plus lourds contenus dans un flux de gaz d'hydrocarbures. Ce flux est refroidi et/ou détendu de façon à être partiellement condensé, puis est séparé de manière à fournir un ou plusieurs C3 contenant des flux liquides et un premier flux de vapeur. Ces flux sont ensuite amenés à une colonne de distillation où un second flux de vapeur est séparé de façon que soit extrait un produit contenant la majeur partie des constituants C3 et des constituants hydrocarbures plus lourds. Un flux de distillation est extrait de la colonne sous le point d'alimentation du premier flux de vapeur, puis est acheminé vers le second flux de vapeur de façon à produire un échange thermique afin de refroidir le flux de distillation et à en condenser au moins une partie. Un flux condensé est ainsi obtenu. Une partie au moins du flux condensé est acheminée vers la colonne de distillation au niveau d'une position d'alimentation en haut de colonne. Les quantités et les températures des charges amenées à la colonne maintiennent efficacement la tête de cette dernière à une température permettant d'extraire la majeur partie des constituants souhaités.
