HYDROCARBON REFORMING PROCESS EMPLOYING A SUPPORTED IRIDIUM CATALYST ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved hydrocarbon reforming process wherein hydrocarbon feed is contacted with a catalyst comprising a major amount of alumina derived form hydrous alumina predomination in alumina monohydrate, amorphous hydrous alumina and mixtures thereof, and minor, catalytically effective amounts of both platinum and iridium in at least one reaction cone in the presence of hydrogen at hydrocarbon reforming conditions so that the hydrogen to hydrocarbon mole ration in the reaction zone is maintained at an effective average level of from about 7:1 to about 30:1. Significant benefits, e.g., improved catalyst activity stability, are obtained by practicing the present invention.
